FOR K - 12
Heart of Hope Academy
Heart of Hope Academy is a specialized, accredited school serving students ages 5–21 who benefit from small classrooms, individualized instruction, and a supportive environment built around their strengths. As part of the Elaine Clark Center, the academy offers a holistic model that blends functional academics, social-emotional development, and life-skills training—all within an inclusive, nurturing community.
Families looking for an alternative to traditional special education programs find Heart of Hope to be a place where students are truly seen, understood, and supported at their own pace.
Located in Chamblee, we draw families from across Metro Atlanta, including Brookhaven, Dunwoody, Tucker, Decatur, Marietta, and Gwinnett County communities.

OUR APPROACH
Functional Academics and Life Skills That Support Independence
Heart of Hope Academy uses a curriculum that emphasizes both essential academics and daily living skills. Each student follows an individualized education plan that may include:
- Functional academics (reading, math, communication, adaptive skills)
- Daily living skills (self-care, routines, hygiene, mobility)
- Social and communication skills (peer interaction, teamwork, expressive language)
- Community-based instruction for older students (learning in real-world environments)
- Vocational and pre-vocational training when developmentally appropriate
- Integrated therapy collaboration with speech, OT, or PT providers
Teachers, therapists, and families work together to set meaningful goals, track progress, and create a classroom environment where students feel confident and capable.

Therapy collaboration
Speech, occupational, and physical therapists can work with students during the school day—enhancing skill development without disrupting routines.
Ability-centered learning
Instruction is tailored to each student’s strengths, communication needs, sensory profile, and learning style.
Smooth transitions to other ECC programs
Students may continue into Out-of-School Services or ECC Life for a consistent, long-term support path.
