$1M CARE COMMITMENT
Care for Those Who Care for Our Community
Your support of the $1M Care Commitment helps sustain life-changing programs—and ensures the caregivers behind them receive the health benefits and stability they deserve.
When Services End, Families Are Left Carrying the Weight
Did you know that many young adults with special needs age out of county or state services at age 22? When that happens, families are often left to provide care around the clock—without sufficient support, resources, or alternatives.
In DeKalb County, there are only three organizations that offer daily services for young adults with special needs.
For the past
25 years, the Elaine Clark Center has been one of them.
Our Role
The Elaine Clark Center is a nonprofit organization serving children and young adults with developmental disabilities in Chamblee, Georgia. ECC provides consistent, daily programs that support independence, safety, and dignity—services that are incredibly rare and deeply needed.
To remain accessible, ECC keeps tuition as affordable as possible and provides scholarships when families cannot pay. As a result,
40% of ECC’s $1 million annual operating budget must be covered through charitable donations.
The Care Commitment
ECC’s staff are deeply committed, highly skilled, and chronically underpaid individuals who dedicate their lives to caring for young adults with complex needs. They are the heart of this organization—and the reason families trust ECC with their loved ones.
The $1M Care Commitment exists to:
- Close ECC’s annual operating deficit
- Sustain essential programs for young adults with special needs
- Provide health insurance and benefits to the caregivers who make this work possible
Caring for others should not mean sacrificing personal health or stability. This campaign is about doing right by the people who show up every day.
Your Impact
A contribution to the $1M Care Commitment directly supports:
- Daily services for young adults who have aged out of public systems
- Families who rely on ECC as one of their only care options
- Staff retention, wellbeing, and long-term program stability
Your gift doesn’t disappear into overhead—it keeps doors open, caregivers supported, and services running.
Help Us Reach the $1M Goal
The Elaine Clark Center has been there for families when systems fall short. With your help, we can continue providing care—and finally provide healthcare—for the people who make it all possible.
More Ways to Give
You can make a difference through monthly giving, corporate partnerships, event support, or general donations that strengthen every program at the Elaine Clark Center.
