The Many Hats We Wear — and the Joy Our Students Bring
Kelly Carter

We all wear a lot of hats in life — parent, friend, coworker, neighbor, caregiver, volunteer. But let’s be honest: hats never look quite as good on us as they do on these adorable kids.

At the Elaine Clark Center, our students try on new roles every day too — friend, helper, artist, dancer, classmate. And with the right support, encouragement, and patience, they grow into each one in their own time and in their own way.

The smiles you see in our classrooms don’t happen by accident. They happen because teachers show up early, therapists work patiently, classrooms are equipped with the right tools, and a caring community chooses to stand behind these children and their families.

Small Acts, Big Impact

If you’ve ever wondered whether small acts of generosity matter — they do. They help create moments of confidence, connection, laughter, and belonging. They help children feel seen and supported. They help families breathe a little easier. And they help our mission continue to grow.

If you’d like to be part of their story, we’d be grateful for your support. Every gift helps us provide a safe, joyful place where children of all abilities can learn, explore, and thrive.
