The Elaine Clark Center has grown and changed over the years, but one guiding idea has remained constant: meet people and families where they are with individualized care, compassion, and meaningful support.
Today, 40–50 children are enrolled year-round across three program areas. During summer camp, that number grows to about 80 children and young adults, each participating in programs designed to build confidence, connection, and independence.
Our 15,000-square-foot facility in Chamblee includes a gym, classrooms, sensory and therapy rooms, and a beautiful vegetable garden cared for by the Christ Child Society. Our nurse and social worker also provide essential support to children and families, helping ensure care extends beyond the classroom.
It is remarkable to consider how far the Center has come since Sister Robert Therese began this work more than 55 years ago. We do not know exactly what she would think if she could see the Elaine Clark Center today, but we hope she would recognize the care and compassion at its heart—the same roots that continue to guide us every day.
Now you know where we came from. Next, we’ll share where we’re going.
