On Tuesday, September 15, the Elaine Clark Center community will gather in Chamblee for an evening of connection, celebration, and meaningful recognition. For more than 50 years, the Elaine Clark Center has been a place where children and young adults of all abilities can learn, grow, build relationships, and be supported as individuals. This community celebration is an opportunity to recognize that legacy—and the people who make it possible every day.
An Evening Rooted in Community
ECC has always been about more than programs and services. It is about families finding support, children discovering new possibilities, young adults building life skills, dedicated professionals sharing their expertise, and community members choosing to show up for one another.

We invite families, friends, supporters, volunteers, former and current students, and neighbors from across Chamblee and Metro Atlanta to join us. Start With Supper Club
We will begin the evening with Supper Club at SouthEnd Smokehouse, located at 3509 Broad Street in Chamblee. Supper Club starts at 4:30 p.m. and offers a relaxed opportunity to share a meal and spend time with the families and friends who help make ECC feel like home.
Gathering around a table is a simple but powerful way to build community. It creates space to reconnect with familiar faces, welcome new ones, swap stories, and celebrate the relationships that sustain our mission. Come as you are, bring your family, and enjoy the chance to be part of an evening centered on belonging.
SouthEnd Smokehouse is directly across the street from Chamblee City Hall, making it easy to continue with us for the House Resolution presentation afterward.
A Special Recognition at Chamblee City Hall
At 6:00 p.m., we will walk across the street to Chamblee City Hall at 3518 Broad Street for a special moment of recognition. State Representative Karen Lupton will present House Resolution 1491 recognizing the Elaine Clark Center and its longstanding service to children, young adults, and families.
This recognition reflects the impact of countless people across the Elaine Clark Center’s history: the children and young adults who inspire us, the parents and caregivers who trust us, the educators and therapists who bring compassion and skill to their work, and the donors, volunteers, advocates, and partners who strengthen our community.
For a special needs nonprofit in Chamblee, this kind of public recognition is also a reminder of why advocacy matters. Since 1969, the Elaine Clark Center has worked to meet families where they are and provide meaningful support through every stage of life. From inclusive child development and early intervention to Heart of Hope Academy, out-of-school programs, ECC Life, pediatric nursing, therapy, scholarships, and social services, our work is built around the unique strengths and needs of every individual we serve.
Families looking for disability services for children in Atlanta often need more than one resource. They need a community that understands the importance of individualized support, family-centered care, and long-term opportunity. ECC’s continuum of care helps children and young adults build confidence and skills while giving families a trusted place to turn.
