The outreach component of early intervention services is the Pediatric Early Assessment and Referral (PEAR) Program which was started when Center staff realized we could help families and children in other programs by providing assessment and support services to families not enrolled in our full day program.  The four member PEAR team consists of our social worker and our speech, occupational and physical therapists.

 

This team conducts developmental evaluations for children who may be diagnosed with a developmental disability, or show signs of developmental delay by displaying behavioral, sensory and/or motor issues.  Through these assessments, strategies are developed to help the family attain appropriate services in order to help the child meet their developmental goals.  The uniqueness of this program is that the Center works with the child’s family and current child care program to provide the interventions.
