INTRODUCING THE DRAGONFLY CLASSROOM
The Dragonfly Classroom is a bridge classroom of the Heart of Hope Academy.
The Elaine Clark Center is excited to offer an exciting educational opportunity for preschool age children that might not be quite ready for kindergarten. Kindergarten standards and curriculum have changed over the years, and many of the skills once taught in first grade are now expected in kindergarten. The bridge classroom provides children an opportunity to expand their kindergarten readiness skills, social-emotional intelligence and have time to mature over the course of the year.
An extra year provides the opportunity to bridge the path between preschool and kindergarten and gives children the gift of time that will help them build a strong foundation for future school success. The focus will be on blending social and emotional experiences and skill building with academic learning so that children learn pre-math, literacy, cognitive and practical life skills but also develop social and self-regulation skills needed to succeed in school and life.
Learning takes place through Everyday Daily Experiences and teachers provide thoughtfully planned experiences around developing:
-
Social-Emotional Skills and Self-Regulation Tools
