We offer a spectrum of services to address every child’s individual needs.

The Elaine Clark center provides early intervention services based on sound child development principals, the expertise and knowledge of a variety of professionals (educators, nursing, OT, PT, Speech, Social work, Child Development) and a curriculum which draws on research based approaches to children’s learning (Montessori, Reggio) under the direction of a highly experienced Program Coordinator. Our staff works together to provide children and families with an educational approach that is individualized, therapeutic and educates and supports the whole child and family.

Introducing our expanded Out of School Services:

After School Services:
We offer activities on and off campus to meet your child’s recreational interests and abilities.  We provide on-campus activities in a comfortable and safe environment in which participants, whatever their abilities, can participate and select from a variety of fun, therapeutic activities with their peers. Off-campus sports activities are adapted to each child’s level of functioning and abilities in a fun, social setting while supported in a 3:1 setting. Click here for the After School Application.

Camp ECCHOH (pronounced "echo") Summer Programs: We maintain a low camper-to-ratio to facilitate a successful camp experience for each camper during the daily activities. Whether the camper is participating in our campus-based activities or our offsite inclusion programs, we provide activities adapted to his or her abilities that improve fine and gross motor coordination, offer sensory integration, and focus on socialization skills with both typical and special needs peers. Click here for a description of all Camp ECCHOH Programs.

Child Development
The Elaine Clark Center allows children to explore, learn, play and grow socially in a developmentally appropriate environment. Our teachers support each child’s learning style through a combination of guided activities that are comfortable to the children while providing a sense of accomplishment at the end of their day.

Parents are encouraged to become involved and participate in the “active learning” process, and to visit with us throughout the day.

While we provide an educational approach that reaches beyond a typical childcare facility, the care that each child receives from our staff is what most of our parents have come to expect, love and support.

Social Services
Parents expressing specific needs are encouraged to work with our Social Service Coordinator to assure that their, and their children’s, needs are met. Families can attend regular educational and support seminars to enhance their knowledge of a multitude of topics and to express concerns in an open, caring environment.

Our Social Service Coordinator can provide information and direction on a wide range of topics – from finding therapists to community playgrounds that have equipment for toddlers. We believe that no question or concern is too small and our door is always open to those who need a shoulder to lean on when issues become overwhelming.

Inclusive Environment
The Elaine Clark Center provides a therapeutic environment that is conducive to each child’s unique abilities and patterns of growth. Our inclusive setting benefits children with special needs by increasing their social competence, advancing their play skills and giving them the opportunity to incorporate therapeutic goals within an early childhood educational setting.

Our center’s typically developing children naturally learn to become more aware of the needs of others, and more accepting, responsive and helpful to those who are different from themselves.

On-Site Pediatric Nurse
The Elaine Clark Center has a Certified Pediatric Nurse on staff every workday from 8:30am to 2:30 PM.

Because we have a nurse on staff, we can offer a wide range of health services including, but not limited to: medication administration (including injections of insulin for diabetic children), G-tube feedings, Tracheotomy care, cardiac/apnea monitoring, oxygen administration, urinary catheterization, blood pressure monitoring & asthma management.

Our nurse does not diagnose illness, but will work closely with your child’s pediatrician and therapists to optimize a daily program.

As in any community setting, children with acute illness (fever, diarrhea, vomiting, or other contagious diseases) are not allowed to attend while they are ill. We can, however, care for children with such problems as: reflux, chronic stomach or bowel problems, seizures or temperature instability due to neurological conditions, with advice from their pediatricians.

Scholarship Assistance
The Elaine Clark Center provides financial assistance to families with children who have special needs, demonstrating financial need. During the enrollment process families may fill out a scholarship application. If a scholarship is granted, families must follow the scholarship guidelines which include, but are not limited to, quarterly assessments of financial information, attendance at center events, and support and attendance at educational meetings.

Our Scholarships help supplement families whose income is compromised by out of pocket medical cost, time off work, and a variety issues based on the ability of their child.

Therapeutic Services
The Elaine Clark Center provides a therapeutic intervention program under the direction of a Child Development Specialist. Interventions are conducted by an Occupational Therapist, Physical Therapist and Speech Language Pathologist.

Therapists provide Sensorimotor- Language interventions, train teachers in implementation and integration of interventions, and work with parents to facilitate therapy programs in the home. Therapists provide valuable input on the therapeutic environment and selection of materials as well as on-going education and support.
